Batch, chef-owner Pichet Ong, is a twelve-seat bakery devoted to sweets sold by the piece or by the batch. The decor much different to the next door ultramodern P*ong, with bright-red walls, crystal chandeliers, and bric-a-brac. The sweets depart from standard cupcake-parlor fare, with Asian-inspired Vietnamese coffee cake, Green Tea Coconut Cupcake, yuzu-shortbread sandwiches, coconut-calamansi layer cake, Thai-tea tiramisu pudding, and durian ice cream. 150 West 10th Street near Waverly Place; 212. 929.0250.
